Musician Chance Nalubega To Sue The Orchard Music Distributor
The singer pointed out that many artists from her era were not fully aware of copyright protections when they released their music, a gap that has now left some vulnerable to exploitation in the digital age.

Veteran singer Chance Nalubega has issued a strong ultimatum to The Orchard, giving the international music distributor two weeks to remove her songs from their platform or face legal action.
Nalubega accuses the company of claiming ownership over her music without her consent.
She insists she has never entered into any agreement with The Orchard, making their actions both shocking and frustrating.
Nalubega expressed deep disappointment over the situation, saying it is painful to see someone else benefit from her hard work.
“I’m tired, they are disturbing me yet it’s my music. I sang and appeared in those videos they are claiming,” she said. “We never had copyright during our days and released music not knowing anything, but now we do. It’s painful now that you upload your music and someone else claims it.”

Nalubega insists that enough is enough, saying the company has already benefited from her work for far too long. She is now determined to reclaim full control over her music and rights.
“I have given them two weeks, and then we go to court,” she said.
Chance Nalubega is a Ugandan musician, singer and songwriter. She is the founder and leader of the Gomiba Band. Her music style is often categorized within Kadongo Kamu but it also incorporates elements of soukous, pop, and Afrobeat.
Chance Nalubega was born in Masaka, Uganda. She is a member of the Ngabi clan. She moved to Kampala with her mother in August 1991 and sought shelter at Christian Life Church in Bwaise after their belongings including; a gomesi, small pillow, plate, and tea kettle were stolen.
She has been in the music industry since the age of ten and has released 7(?) albums during her career so far.
She made her debut under Gomiba Band (Which she is Director) with hits like Nsula Eyo “Omutima Gunuma”.
Her albums are recorded in Kasiwukira Studios, Lusyn Enterprises and Dr. Tee’s Studio on the most recent album.
She has done various tours in countries like South Africa, Kenya, United Kingdom, Botswana, Tanzania, and United States of America. She also done various performances in and out of Kampala, Uganda.
